This training session mainly introduced two types of metering pumps, electromagnetic metering pumps and mechanical metering pumps. Their main difference lies in their working principles.
The working principle of the electromagnetic metering pump is as follows
Electromagnetic metering pumps generate flow by changing the volume of the pump head through the reciprocating motion of the coil. When the diaphragm moves away from the pump chamber, the inlet valve opens and liquid enters the pump chamber.
When the diaphragm compresses the pump chamber, the outlet valve opens and liquid enters the pipeline.

Material of the liquid contact end:
Pump head: PVDF polyvinylidene fluoride, a kind of fluoroplastic with chemical resistance, high temperature resistance and electric insulation.
Valve ball: ceramic, with excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, Mohs hardness can reach 9, to avoid damage by impurities in the liquid.
Diaphragm: PTFE polytetrafluoroethylene, compared with other fluoroplastics, its uniqueness lies in its excellent low friction, which can effectively reduce friction when the pump is working and lower the failure rate.
Seal: FPM/EPDM/PTFE fluoroelastomer/ethyl propylene rubber/polytetrafluoroethylene, which can be chosen flexibly according to the composition of dosing.

Electromagnetic metering pump product protection level
Due to the internal design of the circuit boards, all Seko solenoid pumps are IP65 rated in order to ensure that the pumps do not malfunction over long periods of time.
Brief description of the protection level: The first number indicates the level of protection of the appliance against dust and intrusion of foreign objects, and the second number indicates the level of protection of the appliance against moisture and intrusion of water, with the larger number indicating a higher level of protection.
The first number 6 represents the meaning of: completely prevent the entry of dust.
The second number 5 means: no harm can be done by rinsing with water.

Mechanical metering pump working principle
A pump is a machine that can transfer liquid or change the pressure of liquid in a volume. It is divided into the following categories: volumetric pumps, power pumps and special pumps.Seko mechanical diaphragm metering pump belongs to one of the volumetric pumps.
Metering pumps are volumetric, mechanically operated reciprocating diaphragm pumps. Each pump consists of a power end and a liquid end, which are separated by a Teflon diaphragm. The appearance of each pump varies due to the different liquid ends and accessories, but the basic operating principle is the same.
The metering pump is driven by a motor mounted on the flange of the motor connector. The motor drives a set of worm gears that convert rotary motion into moments. The worm gears then power an eccentric shaft assembly that converts the rotary motion into reciprocating motion. The pump restricts diaphragm movement on the suction portion of each stroke by a semi-contact type stroke length adjustment device. The stroke length setting is indicated by a scale (0% - 100%) on the stroke adjustment assembly.
Flow generation principle
When the push rod moves backward, the suction valve opens and the discharge valve closes, allowing the liquid to enter the volumetric chamber.
When the push rod moves forward, the suction valve closes, the discharge valve opens and the liquid enters the pipeline.
