How to choose the pretreatment tank?

Multi-media filter, activated carbon filter, security filter and resin tank model selection mainly depends on the RO terminal water flow, the RO equipment to calculate the utilization rate of water pretreatment flow. General small RO water utilization rate of about 50 --- 60%, large systems in 75%, the highest does not exceed 80%.

Examples of related issues:

Multi-media filter

Assuming a primary RO water production of 3 tons / h, recovery rate of 75%, pretreatment water production of 4 tons / h, for the time being, do not consider the pretreatment preparatory self-water rate.

Activated carbon filter

Multi-media filter

◆ The general design flow rate of multi-media filter is 8---10m/h, where the water production is 4 tons/h, according to Q=SV [Q flow rate, S tank cross-sectional area, V design flow rate, S= π R^2 tank diameter d=2R] can calculate the diameter of the tank, the height can check the manufacturer's manual.

Activated carbon filter

◆ The general design flow rate of activated carbon filter is 10---12m/h. Here the water production is 4 tons/h. According to Q=SV [Q flow rate, S tank cross-sectional area, V design flow rate, water production is 4 tons/h, S= π R^2 tank diameter d=2R], the diameter of the tank can be calculated, and the height can be checked in the manufacturer's manual.

Softeners

◆ The general design flow rate of softeners is 15-20m/h, where the water production is 4 tons/h, the diameter of the tank can be calculated according to Q=SV [Q flow rate, S tank cross-sectional area, V design flow rate, S= π R^2 tank diameter d=2R], and the height can be checked in the manufacturer's manual.

It is worth noting that: according to the above algorithm to calculate the size of the three tanks is not the same, but many people in the market will see a lot of equipment tanks are the same type and size, and most of the tanks are much smaller than the theoretical calculation value.

The reason for the smaller tanks is to reduce costs and save space so as to improve the design flow rate at the time of design, and the reason for the same tank size is to make the equipment more beautiful.
